Ghouls (arabic:الغول) are fiendish jinns or monsters who dwell in or near burialgrounds from pre-islamic arabia. They feast on human flesh, in many texts, they are described as "necrophages", those who eat "the dead". In e.g. "The Witcher", the ghouls commonly are found on battlefields, where they eat the fallen, which doesn't make them less dangerous for the living.
