The manticore is a creature with the body of a large lion, wings of a bat, tail of a scorpion and a human head. While their heads resembles that of humans, they have several lines of sharp teeth. In some variations, instead of a spike at the end of the scorpion tail, the manticore instead has a countless pointy spikes, that can be launched at it's target with high precision. They are also not always portrayed with wings. The spikes are poisonous and can paralyze their victims. Their roar is said to be like a loud blare of trumpets.
